The article first considers and analyses huge duel scandal of 1906 between Lieutenant A.A. Smirnsky (future brigade commander of the Red Army) and deputy of the 1st State Duma V.R. Yakubson. The publication is based on a wide range of sources, a significant part of which is first introduced for scientific use.
