The largest cities of the country are innovation centers, play a major role in determining the political course of the state, the lifestyle of the population. St. Petersburg is one of the most influential russian cities and tourist center. Accordingly, a important place in urban policy is the issue of preservation of monuments of architecture of different eras. Imperial pre-revolutionary and soviet industrial buildings have not found a new application in the post-industrial economy. This report is attention to the problem of redevelopment of industrial zones in St. Petersburg.
