Within the framework of ideas of subject approach a personality is considered as the core structure of subject. It provides a general direction of self-development and self-organisation, a person is a keeper of content of human being's inner world. The distinction between subject's and personality's functions being suggested in the framework of subjective approach allows us to insist that a thesis «a changing person in a changing world» implies precisely a personality possessing a potential that determines its ability to change in the context of ongoing transformations in the world. In the fullness of time a dynamic approach to understanding a personality became an alternative to a structural-functional one, but a study of personality's variability actually was reduced to an analysis of variability/changeability of individual variables. A processual approach proceeds from the principle of personality variability, but does not reduce it solely to variability. It emphasizes an incompleteness of action, an openness of system, a fundamental possibility of personality's transforming in the process of life's journey. The main subject of the study in the processual approach is a phenomenology of changes.
