Despite the long tradition of investigation, the etymological study of toponymic units of the Iberian Peninsula and, in particular, its North-Eastern area, still has many unresolved issues. In this article, relying on the archaeological and epigraphic data of the Iberian studies, the most striking examples of the etymology of the toponyms of Catalonia, containing toponymic formants categorized as "iberian" are being surveyed.
