The author proves that toponyms in the poetry of Pushkin and his contemporaries usually do not present concrete places, but are the elements of some dictionary of poetical tropes, taken ready from the classical poetry. A new toponym have to be presented in the frames of accustomed scheme or by the method of poetical comparison.
