The article demonstrates the role of the Silver age poet V. A. Zorgenfrey in creating of the Petersburg text of the Russian literature and examines some less-known facts of his biography, connected with Petersburg-Petrograd-Leningrad, which has formed the literature man and then played the tragic role in his fate (in 1938 the poet was a subject to repression).The analysis showed, that the Petersburg period was the time when Zorgenfrey became a personality and a poet and devoted himself to the service of culture and was under the influence of A.A. Block and his literature surrounding. Some Zorgenfrey works of the Petersburg period are famous as the city folklore. The author of Petersburg text conception V. N. Toporov included Zorgenfrey's poems in the symbol texts of the Petersburg's metahistory expressed conditionally, but with help of real city views, types and cultural and historical detailes.
