When analyzing trends in state development and international relations, modern researchers often do not take into account the cultural and civilizational factor. Throughout its history, Mexico has experienced political, economic and military pressure from the United States. But now the situation is changing. Demographic trends in Mexico itself, and in particular the substantial migration of the Mexican population to the United States and its uneven distribution over the territory of the latter, can challenge Washington. Trying to look into the distant future, the author predicts not only the changes in the balance of power of these two giants of the Western Hemisphere, but even possible problems of separatism in the United States, caused by the influx of Mexican population.
