The article deals with the event-related discourse considered in terms of an axiological aspect. Much attention is given to the interrelation of value and event categories, which is illustrated by the examples of the newspaper event discourse. The author points out the problems connected with the categories interconditionality, the peculiarity of the mental image of an event depending on the individual features of the value system, and considers a wide spectrum of cooperation between individual and social categories.
