The article considers the socio-psychological factors of parental burnout. Data were collected from a sample of 365 parents. Participants were aged 20 to 53 (mean age=34,4, SD=6,71). The parental burnout was more typical for large families and families with small children. The intensity of mothers' burnout was significantly higher than that of fathers. Factors that contribute to parental burnout include absence of paid professional activities, the number of hours per day spent with children, the attitude towards gender equality in the family, parents' dependence on public opinion, orientation in the upbringing of children to values of autonomy and uniqueness. Proactive coping behavior was effective for reducing all components of parental burnout.
