The article describes the attitude of Eduard Meyer to Russia, the perception of the policy of the Russian Empire and its role in international relations in the 19th and early 20th centuries, especially during the First World War. The perception of the scientific heritage of Ed. Meyer in pre-revolutionary Russia, during the Soviet period and in post-Soviet times is also conceded. In particular, it is traced the influence of the concept of cyclical development of history, which was developed by Ed. Meyer, on the works of a number of Russian scientists N. XX century - M. M. Khvostov, M. I. Rostovtseff, V. S. Sergeev, P. I. Kushner (Knyshev). Revealed relationship Ed. Meyer with M. I.
