The paper contains some observations on Sumarokov's sacred poetry. The singularity of Sumarokov's philosophical lyrics has been considered by the example of his sacred odes Ode to the bustle of the world (1763), Hymn to the Sun (1760) and a sonnet When I entered the beau monde. According to the paper, sacred and philosophical poetry of Sumarokov was far ahead of his time and not fully appreciated by his contemporaries, and the influence of Sumarokov's sacred odes had an influence much later.
