Fulminant rosacea is a rare disease characterized by the sudden appearance of large painful confluent pustules and nodes against the background of diffuse erythema and edema on the skin of the central part of the face, forehead and chin. The disease develops mainly in young women. Cases of fulminant rosacea in men are few, at the beginning of 2019 10 patients were described. Trigger factors for the development of fulminant rosacea are not identified. The onset of the disease can be associated with hormonal disorders, inflammatory intestinal diseases and their medical treatment, irrational external therapy including topical corticosteroids. The clinical picture of fulminant rosacea in men is diverse, rashes can be both widespread and localized, and in some cases accompanied by a violation of the general condition. Systemic an-tibiotic therapy is not always effective enough. The drug of choice for the treatment of the disease is systemic isotretinoin, which is most of-ten prescribed at a daily dose of 0.5–0.7 mg/kg. We present a description of the clinical case of a disease in a man aged 55 years. The patient has had ill with rosacea for several years. Fulminant rosacea was developed as a result of independent irrational therapy by the patient — external use of lemon juice and tar products in combination with insolation. To our knowledge, this is the only description of fulminant rosacea caused by the use of tar products and insolation. Antibacterial therapy with doxycycline and ceftriaxone was ineffective. The use of isotreti-noin at a daily dose of 0.5 mg/kg for 4 months allowed to achieve a persistent clinical effect. The analysis of literature data on the features of the clinical picture, diagnosis and treatment of fulminant rosacea in men is given.
