The article presents the study on motivation of people involved in volunteering In
modern social conditions volunteering is an important humanistic movement to help those in need. It has a significant impact on the economy, because volunteer’s activities reduce the costs of helping. The basic motives for volunteering, such as self-realization, belonging to a group and the security of life, which stimulate the work of volunteers, are presented. Personal achievements of volunteers, such as the new social experience, communication skills and understanding of other people, acquired through volunteering, are discussed.
