The review is dedicated to the recently published book by L.S.Kheifets and V.L.Kheifets “Latin America in the orbit of the world revolution” (Moscow, “Politicheskaia enciklopediia”, 2020). The reviewed publication is a reference dictionary which consists of biographies of more than 1800 communists who visited Latin America with political assignments during the existence of the Communist International, given in alphabetical order. The work itself demonstrates the importance of the personality factor in the history of the functioning of any international organization. It resulted from the research done in Russian archives, primarily in the Russian State Archive for Social and Political History (RGASPI), as well as in some foreign archives. The authors used the sources of personal character and historical academic literature in different languages. The publication is of interest for Latin Americanists and all those who are interested in the history of the international communist movement and Latin American history.
