The author addresses to the cognitive approach of “intertextual metaphor” as a perception and reproduction of one text's metaphor in another one, and retraces the metamorphoses of acoustic and visual metaphors in the texts of Victor Pelevin (“Empire V”, “S.N.U.F.F.”), Peter Watts (“Blindsight”), Gaito Gazdanov (“Hawaiian Guitars”), Alexander Sokurov's film “Faust”, etc.
