N2 - This paper presents the background of rehabilitation in oncology, from the idea itself, through adoption of legislative regulations, to implementation of rehabilitation in all stages of the malignant disease, from diagnostics, therapy, remission, relapse until the terminal stage. Depending on the stage of the disease and the functional status of the patient, four levels of oncologic rehabilitation are in application: preventive, restitutive, supportive and palliative. The aims of oncological rehabilitation are presented in addition to the difficulties in carrying out of rehabilitation interventions in malignant diseases.
