The article is devoted to the artifacts from the Schwerin Münzkabinet (Mecklenburg- Western Pomerania, Germany). The Mecklenburg lands were participants in many historical events, which was reflected in the collection of memorable medals. Some of them are evidences of dynastic connections between Mecklenburg and Russia. In particular, one medal was created in honor of the marriage between Karl Leopold of Mecklenburg- Schwerin and Peter I’s niece Ekaterina Ivanovna, and the other in honor of the marriage between Prince Friederich Ludwig and Grand Duchess Elena Pavlovna. Medals dedicated to these events are consideres in this article.
