The approach, first called the Anthropocene by chemist Paul Krutzen, concerning the significance and consequences of anthropogenic transformations of the land, oceans, biosphere and climate of the Earth, demonstrated from a variety of points of view that it is very possible people have already begun a new geological epoch, their own. Will this change the architectural paradigm? Can we already observe the processes of the emergence of a new type of architectural thinking?
The study suggests trying to reconstruct and analyze a model of thinking in which, despite the seemingly total gap between two types of cohabitation (urban and rural), it is the wide variety of “natural” present in post-megacities that is usually considered an index of environmental health and an indicator of proper development. New ways of modeling and manufacturing in architecture, as well as improvements in biotechnology, synthetic biology, engineering and related sciences, are leading to an ever-growing interdisciplinary approach to environmental design. Is this is a new architecture that needs to be defined?
