The book by Galina Zhukova «National Representation in the European Musical Discourse» was published by St.Petersburg State University in 2014. The research is based on the musical and verbal texts by three composers, selected from the legacy of the last two centuries of European Musical Tradition - Karol Szymanovsky, Kszysztof Penderecky and Arnold Schoenberg , which played crucial role in the Musical Language changes. Special attention is drawn to Musical Intonation as a base category of Musical Sense. The important part of the research is devoted to the Praxis of Musical Thinking, which is to clarify the definitions of the key terms: Musical Language, Musical Speech and Musical Discourse.
