The article is devoted to the emerging tendency of opposing the supporters of the qualitative approach in the study of the network economy to quantitative methods. The article examines examples of scientific works where the authors tried to investigate economic reality through a variety of studies: from the ideas of Baudrillard to dialectical logic. These attempts are subjected to critical analysis as unsuccessful attempts to go beyond the outlined framework of the "profile" of qualitative research methods. At the same time, the inappropriate neglect of some quantitative studies of theoretical and methodological aspects is criticized.
