The paper claims that in conformity with the changes in Russian nature conservation legislation it is absolutely essential to draw up new foundations of the above legislation and to pass a Federal law on the conservation of natural objects localities. In order to encourage interest of young generation to paleontology and nature conservation it is necessary to introduce young people to a much broader range of knowledge about the history of our planet's organic World and to set up school collections of plant and animal fossils. Compilling guidebooks and catalogues of fossil localities can be an effective way of protection of our natural resources.
