This article is devoted to the analysis of the transformation of social communications within metaverses – three-dimensional virtual environments where physical and digital realities converge. The relevance of the study is determined by the rapid development of virtual and augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and blockchain technologies, which give rise to fundamentally new mechanisms of social, professional, and economic interaction. The research identifies a number of fundamental trends that distinguish metacommunication from traditional online platforms: (1) communicative immersion and multisensory presence; (2) the mediation of communication by digital avatars as tools for constructing a multiple, context-dependent identity; (3) the hybridization of physical and virtual communicative environments with the formation of stable network interactions; (4) the gamification of communicative practices, where game mechanics become a structural principle of social interaction; (5) the economization of communication through the integration of NFTs, tokens, and play-to-earn models, turning social communication in metaverses into an economic activity; (6) the decentralization of socio-communicative processes through distributed mechanisms. A multi-level conceptual model is proposed and described. It integrates technological, cognitive-communicative, socio-organizational, and economic levels of analysis, demonstrating that metaverses represent a qualitatively new stage in the evolution of the convergent media environment and network society. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the comprehensive phenomenological understanding of metacommunication as an integral phenomenon and in the development of a comparative model that reveals the fundamental differences of metaverses from traditional online platforms. The conclusions of the study indicate that metaverses do not merely expand existing communicative channels, but form new models of digital identity, economic activity, and collective governance. Interaction in metaverses is evolving from simple content consumption to collaborative activity in virtual, interactive, and immersive environments. The practical significance of the work is defined by the potential for applying the results in the fields of education, business, culture, and civic participation, as well as by the necessity to develop new regulatory frameworks for protecting privacy and individual rights in digital space.
