Remarks on the corrosion model of Ni–Cr–Mo–V high strength steel under hydrostatic pressure in the paper by Yang et al. are presented from the point of view of solid mechanics. The effect of elastic stress in a solid under hydrostatic pressure on the corrosion process is discussed.
