title = "Жилищные условия населения Ленинграда — Петербурга в 1945–2024 годах",
abstract = "The article studies the housing conditions of Leningraders and Petersburgers over a period of almost eighty years based on a corpus of published and unpublished sources. Based on mass statistical data, the author constructed dynamic series of the following indicators of housing conditions in Leningrad, objectively reflecting the changes under study: 1) commissioning of living space and the number of people who improved their housing conditions; 2) number of storeys of constructed residential buildings and their area; 3) provision of the population with total living space; 4) improvement of the urban (socialized) housing stock; 5) gasification; 6) number of telephones, radio outlets, televisions. With such a complete coverage of parameters, the study of housing conditions in Leningrad was carried out for the first time. The quality of the living environment is considered as an indicator of the standard of living. The trends in Leningrad — Petersburg were considered against the background of changes in the urban housing stock of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR) — Russian Federation (RF). The study showed a significant transformation of the residential environment that took place in the city. The population of Leningrad — Petersburg began to live in more spacious and comfortable housing. Until 2021, the value of total living space per person in Leningrad — Petersburg exceeded the all-Russian level. The level of amenities (gas, heating, hot water) in the city was higher than the average for the RSFSR — RF. {\textcopyright} 2025, Saint Petersburg State University. All rights reserved.",
