Despite the active development and introduction into practice of new revolutionary approaches of targeted chemotherapy and immunotherapy, surgical intervention remains the main method of rectal cancer treating. Complications after anterior resection of rectum become an important problem that strongly affects the quality of life. Low anterior resection syndrome (LARS) is a group of functional bowel disorders that occur in 20-90% of patients after sphincter-sparing rectal surgery. In Russia Federation researches, that are dedicated to this problem, are scarce. Aim of this study is to assess prevalence and risk factors of LARS after Sphincter-saving resections for rectal cancer in Russia Federation.
