Abstract

Victor Havin (in Russian – B) was one of a few charismatic leaders of the Saint Petersburg analysis community during the past 50 years. Being an outstanding mathematician, he has founded and modelled the face of the modern Saint Petersburg analysis school, building a true hotbed of talents, which still continues to bring forth new generations of bright scholars. Here we try to trace his way, describe his profound impact on our community, and simply sketch a few features of his unforgettable personality.
