Abstract
The success of formation and development of students' communicative competence depends on organization of educational process in higher school, on application of modern methods and means of instruction. Project-based learning technology is one of such means. The purpose of the present study is to determine the degree of influence of project-based learning technology on development of students' communicative competence. The sample consisted of students of Saint Petersburg State University. To achieve the purpose we used a questionnaire and psychodiagnostic methods of studying communicative abilities. The components of communicative competence: cognitive, emotional and behavioral were analyzed. The organization of training activities with the use of project-based learning technology was described. It was found that the technology affected the development of emotional and behavioral components of communicative competence of students.
