N2 - Abstract: Measurements in the deep channels of the Atlantic are compared, based on the results of two different methods: CTD/LADCP casts from research vessels and data from autonomous moorings. The comparison showed that discrepancies between the data collected by two different methods can significantly exceed the accuracy of instruments. This highlights the importance of choosing locations for moorings under conditions of significant spatial gradients of the measured characteristics. The results of the analysis showed that throughout the entire propagation paths of Antarctic waters, the measurement discrepancies are of the same order of magnitude; thus, the conclusions may be valid for all abyssal channels with an intense flow of Antarctic Bottom Water.
