The problem of irregular reflection of a strong shock wave from a rigid wall has been studied mainly within the framework of the linear theory. It has been found that near the front of the shock wave there exists a region of high gradients of gasdynamic parameters where the linear theory ceases to be valid. The present work considers a nonlinear problem about Mach reflection with interaction between a high-intensity shock wave and a thin wedge. The solution of the problem is constructed under the assumption that there is a trivial relationship between the densities at the front of the incident wave.
