High-rated loading, deformation and fracture of thick-walled composite cylinders with an electric explosion of wires

Abstract

The technique of experimental testing and estimation of failure strengths for composite thick-walled 2-component cylinder proposed. We estimated amplitude of the generated by the wire explosion pressure and portions of this pressure transmitted into the PMMA cylinder and the aluminium shell. Dependence between cylinder radius and radial pressure measured and recorded with developed by us piezo-probe. Failure stress for the PMMA cylinder as well as failure stress of the aluminium shell is also estimated.
