This chapter shows the possibilities of geospatial analysis of cultural heritage sites based on the use of remote research methods and new software for information processing. The features of the current stage of research of the sacred complex of the Salbyk Valley in the Republic of Khakassia are considered. The features of the geolocation and structure of objects that ensure the implementation of instrumental functions in the system of ancient navigation are analyzed. The proposed research methods can be implemented during student field practices, and can be used to obtain new knowledge about heritage sites in other regions. © The Author(s) 2026.
