    Research output

    Abstract

Perceiving themselves as creators of history and being conscious of the future readers English Romantics sought to understand how to be truthful conveying historical knowledge: to present accentuate differences of existing perceptions of their time or what was really important and due to be remembered. Example of the Battle of Waterloo and Wellington illustrated by the works of B.R.Haydon («Wellington Musing on the Field of Waterloo», 1839).) and W.Wordsworth («On a Portrait of the Duke of Wellington upon the Field of Waterloo, by Haydon», 1840).
