Abstract

Background. Endometrioid borderline ovarian tumors are relatively rare, representing a few observations in world literature. The data of both Russian and foreign authors on the clinical course of the disease are extremely limited. Case report. The paper describes a clinical case of endometrioid borderline ovarian tumor in a reproductive-aged patient. After morphological verification of the primary tumor, organ-sparing surgery was performed as a second stage. No signs of disease progression were revealed dueing a follow-up of the patient. Conclusion. A case of the clinical course of the disease in the patient with endometrioid borderline ovarian tumor is presented. The findings suggest that organ-sparing surgery can be performed in reproductive-aged women with this disease if the neoplasm is morphologically and immunohistochemically verified.
