The electrokinetic characteristics of a discharge plasma in a ternary Hg plus Ar plus Ne mixture are studied. The experimental values of the density and averaged energy of the electrons and of the longitudinal electric field intensity are given as functions of the total and partial pressures of the inert gases in the mixture and of the discharge currents. The form of the electron energy distribution function for a discharge in the ternary mixture is calculated and the calculation results are compared with the experimentally obtained f( epsilon ) plots.
