The article provides a brief description, as well as a translation of 11 notes in the Turkic language, which are contained in the fund 77 of the Russian State Archive of Ancient Acts, in file No. 1647.1. This file, along with two others in the fund, is dedicated to the stay of Russian ambassadors prince Saveliy Kozlovsky and a d′yak (clerk) Ivan Zinoviev in Persia. The file contains the embassy′s travel reports and the execution of state orders, as well as copies of the Shah′s letters and the aforementioned notes. These notes cannot be classified from the point of view of the Safawid bureaucratic system, as they lack the stamps typical of official letters. The notes concern specific issues discussed with Russian envoys during several meetings: from the sale of saltpetre and the dispatch of a Russian messenger to India and the release of a Russian slave. These documents allow to expand the understanding of the peculiarities of the Safawid paperwork and to look at the history of Russo-Persian relations in various spheres and at different levels using real cases.
