Restoration of regulation of the feeding behaviour after subdiaphragmatic vagotomy in dogs occurs despite of the destruction of nervous fibres within the nn. vagi and the death of their neurons in medullary nuclei. The finding is regarded as a result of formation of a new dominant state in the central nervous system.
