Abstract

This chapter presents the techniques of lengthening of a long bone over a nail (Sect. 26.1), bone transport over a nail (Sect. 26.2), and consecutive external fixation and blocked nailing at lengthening and long-bone deformity correction (Sect. 26.3). Section 26.4 is devoted to the technique used in the one-stage correction of deformities and the fixation of fragments by means of external fixation with immediate transition to internal fixation, i.e., external-fixator-assisted nailing and plating.
