In the article some difficulties occurring in the process of the professional musician training are highlighted. In particular, the matter concerns the problems associated with the mastering (theoretical and practical) of polyphonic works. The authors have developed a musical and pedagogical conception, the use of which, in their opinion, makes the teaching of such things more efficient, but at the same time reduces moral burden both on the student and the teacher. Its essence is in the transformation of monochrome musical notations in polychromic ones where artificially created polychromy coincides with the polyphony planned by the composer.
