The revolution of 1917 in Russia fundamentally changed the approaches to scientic research of the history of the Nordic countries. All previous achievements of Russian history have now been ignored. At the same time, the process of studying social and class development themes of the Nordic countries began. In Soviet Russia was observed in the emergence of new authors who were researchers who moved to Russia from Finland (the «Red Finns»). On the whole, in Soviet Russia there were clearly no great prospects for a scientic study of the history of the Nordic countries.
