The article is a research devoted to one of the most dramatic episodes of the Sino-Japanese War (1937-1945) - the Nanjing Massacre, the assassination of armless POWs and peaceful civilians by the Japanese. One of the basic sources of information was the book by the American journalist of Chinese origin Iris Chang. The book was not translated into Russian and it was based on evidences of the witnesses of this event.
