The article deals with the Ontario paradiplomacy in the 2000–2010s. It shows its driving forces and main directions, as well as the differences from the international activities of other Canadian provinces. It is emphasized that Ontario, by developing its own external relations, works closely with the federal government. The authors conclude that the most important factors determining the nature of Ontario's international activities are the economic / material interests of the province, which is interested in promoting its exports, attracting investments, gaining access to new technologies and inflow of qualified specialists.
