The article proposes an algorithm of linguoculturological analysis of Russian proverbs for their further representation in a dictionary of linguoculturological type. Proverbs with the ‘water’ component have been chosen as a material for the research. Analysis of proverbs contains successive stages, which are described and justified. The article provides a classification of proverbs according to culture settings, and a possible model of a dictionary entry.
