The currently popular description of the contemporary condition of psychological science as being in a state of crisis is based on analysis of the crisis in world psychology in the late XIX - early XX centuries. It is commonly behaved that the crisis has a permanent and systemic nature and has lasted from the end of the XIX century until now. The author disagrees with this assessment and suggests that the current crisis in Russian psychology should be treated as a local phenomenon in the history of world science brought about by the situation in Russian science in the post-Soviet time.
