V Rasputin’s works of small form (stories of the 1990-2000’s) allowed him timely to implement the themes and images caused by the changing reality, his spiritual quest. They contain a powerful potential because of the writer’s tense spiritual quest which was caused by the overcoming destructive tendencies in real life. The creative energy of this spiritual quest was embodied in new aesthetic forms that contributed to the development of narrative Russian prose of the 1990-2000’s.
