The paper refers to an approach aimed to the development of students’ communicative competence at the lessons of rethorics, Russian language and culture of speech. It refers to analyzing the examples of Russian literature different personages’ speech behavior focused on helping the students to distinguish
the manipulation features and to work out the tactic of compliance with their
communicative self-interests. A variety of practical tasks contributing to the
formation of a students’ competent language personality is presented.
