The article is devoted to the world intangible cultural heritage, which means the customs, knowledge and skills transmitted by communities from generation to generation, forming a sense of continuity and transmission of traditions. The intangible heritage unites peoples, represents a variety of cultural traditions, recalling the common history and values, enriches the cultural life of citizens, and is a driving force of cultural and creative potential. The article analyzes the main characteristics of the intangible heritage and presents modern threats facing the intangible heritage, such as cultural globalization, environmental degradation, demographic changes, economic pressure, and many others.
