Abstract

Church and political ideology was rooted in the fact that the crown government was a fact of internal church system, though it related to the earthly life of people. Thus, the tsar was a servant of the Church. That fact obliged the Church to help the tsar in his affairs. For the most part, church ideologists created the concept of unlimited crown power. Autocracy was another Russian idea which originated from that concept. At the same time, concepts of a different ideological orientation appeared in that period: from Hesychasm to heretical theories which were the sides of a single process of the spiritual development of Russian society despite all ideological contradictions and incompatibilities.
