In the article approaches to constructing a model of a higher school graduate readiness to professional work, meeting up-to-date requirements, taking into account his basic needs and interests are presented. The factors which determine choice of a professional orientation and ensure student successful adaptation to the conditions of professional sphere, professional and personal growth are shown.
