The article deals with the exegesis of the vision of the prophet Ezekiel in the Macarian corpus, which is compared with the meaning and significance of this vision in the original book of Ezekiel. The problem of the language of the first chapter of the book, the complexity, and confusion of images in the vision of the prophet, always left a large space for various interpretations. The mysterious nature of the vision, as well as the closeness of its images to the main theological ideas of the emerging Christian ascetic mystics, attracted the attention of the author of the so-called Macarian corpus. He understands the concrete historical meaning of the biblical texts quoted by him, but prefers to interpret them in the course of the Alexandrian tradition - allegorically and typologically, perceiving the events of the Old Testament as the preparation of a person for the New Testament events of salvation, in the ascetic and soteriological ideas that continue to the present day.
