The article analyzes a cycle of stories for teenagers by the Polish authoress Małgorzata Musierowicz, which form the family saga “Jeżycjada” that has been published from 1975. The researcher examines the causes of the cycle’s permanent popularity among readers of different ages over the period of more than forty years and analyzes the specificity of the stories, which prevents their publication in Russian. Special attention is paid to the authoress’s interpretation of family’s role in the formation of a modern teenager’s value system, the problem is especially relevant nowadays when the re-assessment of family values occurs and the importance of family as a social institution is argued.
